Hospital of the Future Vision
“So what we can do with this hospital of the future is to build it to deal with chronic disease, to deal with heart disease, to deal with lung disease, to deal with cancer – in the best, appropriate and most advanced way possible.”
- Dr. Jeff Barber, Dr.PH
Owensboro Health President and CEO
The Capital Campaign gives our community the chance to create a legacy of health and well-being by contributing to our new hospital and by supporting Owensboro Health's mission to heal the sick and improve the health of our community.
The Foundation For Health, a subsidiary of Owensboro Health, is a not-for-profit organization, partnering with individuals, regional businesses and other foundations throughout western Kentucky and southern Indiana to support a multitude of worthy health initiatives in our region. The Foundation’s mission is to develop volunteerism and philanthropy to heal the sick and improve the health of the community – with your help.
Donors can contribute through naming opportunities, gifts of cash, stock, charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts.

Walking Trails
Gifts may be directed to fund walking trails surrounding the new hospital. The Owensboro Health Fitness Trail will give guests and staff a chance to relieve stress and enjoy the beauty of nature on the new hospital campus. With the construction of a scenic 1.1 mile walking trail, the new Owensboro Health campus will offers the opportunity to enjoy the physical benefits of exercise, as well as a relaxing retreat.
The walking path will feature stations, installed throughout the course, for stretching and exercises. These points offer additional challenges for a wide range of fitness levels and include instructions and fitness tips.
Walking is great medicine for many health conditions; It can lower high blood pressure, for instance, and reduces and combats the effects of stress.

Hospitality Suites

Your contribution to the Foundation For Health capital campaign may also be allocated for hospitality suites within the new hospital. The Owensboro Health hospitality suites provide lodging for families of patients who are receiving medical treatment far from home. Located within the hospital, the suites allow families to come and go as needed, without extended travel burdens and expenses.
Each of the seven suites will feature a king or queen size bed, a sofa sleeper, a living room with a television, a kitchenette, a desk, a private back and access to laundry facilities.
Family members play a critical role in the care and healing of their loved ones. The “home-like” hospitality suites are designed to keep families comfortable, rested and well-cared for during their loved one’s stay in the hospital.
