Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Achieves Recognition as one of Healthgrades' America’s 100 Best Hospitals in 2013

Owensboro, KY (February 19, 2013) – Owensboro Health Regional Hospital today announced that is has been named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, a leading online resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals. By earning this distinction, the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital now ranks among the top two percent of hospitals in the nation.

To determine the nation’s best performing hospitals, Healthgrades based its evaluation on objective measures of clinical quality across nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. To qualify for this award, hospitals must demonstrate measurably lower risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates across 19 of 27 conditions and procedures evaluated for a minimum of four years.

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is the only hospital in the Evansville-Indiana region to receive the America’s 100 Best Hospitals award and one of only two in Kentucky.

“This distinction provides a measure of confidence for consumers. Hospitals earn this distinction by providing better than expected outcomes across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures over an extended period of time,” said Evan Marks, executive vice president of Informatics and Strategy. “Their exceptional performance reflects their dedicated approach to delivering superior quality of care for patients.”
