Tisha Higgs is a family medicine nurse practitioner at Owensboro Health Family Medicine Breckenridge. Higgs is a native of Murray and a graduate of Paducah Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree of nursing. She later returned to Murray State University where she earned her bachelors of nursing and doctor of nursing practice.

Higgs said she chose to enter family practice as a nurse practitioner because of the opportunities that it offered her with her patients in the long-term. "I enjoy the relationships that you get to build with individuals and their families while you're caring for them, showing compassion and nurturing people," Higgs said.

As part of her education and training Higgs completed a number of clinical rotations with departments throughout the Owensboro Health system. These include the Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine Breckenridge, Orthopedics and Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
