Dr. Almanfi also completed cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, which is considered as one of the top medical centers and cardiology innovations facilities in the world.
Dr. Almanfi graduated in the top 1% of his class from Al-Arab Medical University in Libya, where he also completed an internal medicine residency and a post-doctoral cardiology fellowship. Dr. Almanfi then became board-certified from the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. After moving to the United States, he completed internship at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis.
Dr. Almanfi specializes in both invasive and non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases including high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions; he also performs various endovascular interventions to treat peripheral vascular diseases of the lower extremities and carotid artery stenting procedures.
Dr. Almanfi is also trained in minimalist invasive approach to treat abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms (procedures called EVAR/TEVAR) using aortic stent grafts.
Dr. Almanfi is the founder and currently the medical director of the structural heart program at OHRH, in this subspecialty, he treats valvular heart diseases like aortic stenosis using a catheter to replace the aortic valve ( procedure called TAVR), he also specialized in treating patients with mitral valve regurgitation “ leak" using minimally invasive therapy called "MitraClip", beside other structural interventions like PFO/ASD closures.
