Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center
The Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center is a unique facility that enables our staff and physicians to work together with the best resources. Along with state-of-the-art treatment options, it houses a 16-bed outpatient oncology unit, physician offices, the cancer registry, library, consultation and conference rooms and space for clinical trials and research conducted in association with University of Louisville and James Graham Brown Cancer Center, as well as the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Affiliation Network.
The latest research in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation is being combined with innovative technology to deliver the most progressive and precise patient outcomes.
Experienced Oncologists and staff have partnered with national cancer care leaders to provide compassionate, quality care to our patients. Typically we treat 15-20 patients daily and our nurse to patient ratio is approximately 4:1.
Support programs are available for cancer patients, family members and friends. For cancer survivors, Owensboro Health offers LifeSpring, a 16-week program that provides a combination of education, exercise and group meetings focused on helping patients along the path towards wellness. Continuing education courses specific to oncology are offered to staff several times a year. Special certifications can also be obtained.
