Profile
Coming to Owensboro Health
Dr. Khanna joined the medical staff at Owensboro Health in 2004 after practicing at three hospitals in Des Moines, Iowa. He came to Owensboro Health because of his interest in moving to an area with a high rate of heart and lung disease where he could impact the care of many patients. Dr. Khanna also found Owensboro Health attractive because it embraced the off-pump bypass procedure, which allows a patient's heart and lungs to continue functioning during surgery.
Surgery Skills
Owensboro Health continues to grow, providing advanced technology, and Dr. Khanna's skills and expertise are keeping pace with it. In addition to conventional bypass and lung surgeries, Dr. Khanna now utilizes the da Vinci® surgical system in cardiac revascularization and thoracic oncology. Since October 2009, he has performed over 50 surgeries utilizing the minimally invasive technique. His goal with each patient is to provide care that will allow them to continue enjoying life and functioning well in daily activities.
