Physician Profile

Dr. Shamai graduated within the top 7% of his class from Nova SouthEastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees.   He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, Weston, Florida.  He then continued his medical education at Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute, New Orleans, Louisiana, where he completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship and served as Chief Cardiology Fellow.  Dr. Shamai joined Owensboro Health Cardiology in 2013 after completing an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan.  He carries a special interest in complex cardiac revascularization and heart failure management.   He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
