The HealthPark holds numerous education classes and seminars to help you understand any health issues you or a loved one face. These sessions often have a member discount, and are open and available to the community.

Diabetes
HealthPark offers multiple diabetes education opportunities to help you control and maintain your diabetes and live a normal, healthy life.
Programs include:
Sweet Beginnings
This gestational diabetes program uses small group classes and individual instruction to promote a successful pregnancy. The class covers medical nutrition therapy, blood glucose monitoring and instruction and risk reduction counseling for prevention of Type 2 diabetes.
Individualized instruction, including follow-up, is scheduled based on participant needs. Insulin instruction by a registered nurse is available as needed. Participants are contacted by phone approximately one month after delivery to track outcomes and assess the need for additional services.

InBalance Diabetes Education Program
This comprehensive program is designed to provide patients with the knowledge and skills to successfully manage diabetes. Each patient’s diabetes learning needs and interests are assessed during their first visit. A blood glucose monitor and user instructions are provided as needed.
Services include:
- Individualized meal planning
- Blood glucose monitor instruction
- Gestational diabetes education
- Pre-diabetes education
- Certified insulin pump training
- Training on injectable diabetes medications
- Self-care education including increasing physical activity, maintaining blood glucose, preventing long-term complications, changing behavior and managing stress

Weight Management
The HealthPark offers weight management programs to help you take the first steps towards managing your weight and health. Every participant MUST attend one FREE information session to participate. Sessions are held in the HealthPark classroom.

Infants and Children
Nurturing Touch Infant Massage Class
Our certified infant massage therapist partners with parents and caregivers to teach basic message technique that enhance the bonding and nurturing process with infants, ages birth to 1 year. Make this an event for you and your infant. (It’s not recommended that older siblings attend).

Health Screenings and Seminars
Screenings
Each quarter, the HealthPark offers a series of screenings for members. Screenings include diabetes screenings, falls risk assessments, hearing screenings, lipid tests, nutrition screenings and more. For a complete list, with dates, times and fees, download our Spring Calendar.
Health Seminars
Health seminars are regularly scheduled throughout the year and include expert speakers on topics such as stroke, women’s health and arthritis.
