It's everything you would expect in a summer camp: sack lunches, fun crafts, a splash in the pool. But for young asthma patients and their families, Camp Wheeze Away is something more—a chance to learn important asthma management skills in a fun environment.

Background

Now in its thirteenth year, Camp Wheeze Away is the vision of Dr. Lee Clore, an allergy specialist who wanted to teach children how to live confidently with asthma. Today, he and Dr. Kelly Brauer oversee the camp, along with a staff of qualified healthcare professionals. Some 35-40 kids attend the camp every year at the Owensboro Health Healthpark.

Our Camp Experience

At Camp Wheeze Away, your child will have a blast swimming, running relays, and making crafts. But he or she will also learn how to manage asthma effectively through interactive classroom sessions and ongoing teaching throughout the two-day program. Your child will leave Camp Wheeze Away with renewed confidence about controlling asthma and making the most out of life.
