Reverse Shoulder Replacement

If you have severe arthritis pain and a torn rotator cuff – or have had a previous shoulder replacement that was not successful – you could benefit from reverse shoulder replacement.

How It Works

Reverse shoulder surgery eliminates joint pain by keeping the bones from rubbing together. Because the implant is inserted opposite of the patient’s normal makeup, the replacement uses other muscles in absence of the rotator cuff.

Less Pain, Quicker Recovery

After physical therapy following surgery, patients report being able to lift their arms to just above shoulder height, perfect for reaching into a cupboard. Patients also say that reverse shoulder replacement provides outstanding pain relief.

“Following physical therapy after surgery, patients will most likely be able to lift their arms to just above shoulder height and bend their elbows to reach the top of the head or into a cupboard pain free. Reverse total shoulder replacement provides outstanding pain relief and patient satisfaction is typically very high.”
