Job Summary
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, build, setup, configuration, testing, training and support of Document Imaging, PACS, Dictation/Transcription and several other ancillary business/clinical applications at Owensboro Health. The Analyst will act as the application champion by liaising with business stakeholders, application vendors, and other technical/functional teams to understand and analyze complex business problems and provide cost-effective and efficient solutions using information systems.
Job Responsibilities
  • Leads the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of all applications, databases, middleware, integrations, and servers, which includes installing new software releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches, and conducting application migrations, refreshes, and restores by coordinating with appropriate IT and vendor IT team members as necessary, such as database, programming, network, security, and server administrators.
  • Leads System Administrator tasks for systems ensuring:
  • Security measures are in place to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Performance and reliability of all systems by monitoring these systems for high availability, load balancing, and satisfactory response time and working with peer and vendor information technology professionals to resolve performance issues
  • Security design and engineering for all applications and systems, including the implementation of backup and recovery processes
  • Future growth requirements of the applications in areas such as database size, number of end-users and application functionality; works with other information technology professionals to address application capacity needs
  • Develop and maintain application lifecycle and roadmap
  • Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives, convert user requirements and needs into detailed application specifications documentation, define and create document flows, architecture diagrams, and program decision points, and create and maintain the knowledge database.
  • Provides break-fix support to analyze and interpret normal and abnormal software behavior, and troubleshoot unexpected results (interface, data integrity, set up, etc.), which leads to resolving, documenting, and negating the recurrence of applications issues and failures.
  • Coordinates the development and execution of applications testing, including test script development, documentation of results, integration testing, and participates in long-term strategic applications planning.
  • Provides on-site and/or telephone support in accordance with organizational needs - in periodic, rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • None required.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years progressive professional experience supporting enterprise applications required.Experience in full system development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, release, maintenance and documentation.Strong analytical and skills required.Experience with web services, any programming language including Java or C# and SQL Server database programming preferred.Basic understanding of BI and reporting tools like Crystal Reports preferred.Basic understanding of Server Level Administration and Maintenance preferred.
