Prepared Childbirth Saturday Series
This live virtual class will be taught with an instructor via WebEx until we can resume in-person classes. A virtual tour is offered via WebEx during the class. All registrants who sign up for this class will receive more information via email.
Prepared Childbirth Classes are held one evening a week for 3 weeks. All childbirth class series include a tour.
When you register, whoever you list as a birthing partner on the registration form will automatically be registered for the class or tour you register for.
PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASSES 1-2:
This 2-day class series is designed to take around 6 or 7 months of pregnancy and includes:
Class 1: Preparing for Labor
Labor pain and pain theories
Pregnancy warning signs
Signs of Pregnancy Induced Hypertension
Last trimester of pregnancy
Signs of Pre-term labor
Signs of Pre-Labor
Onset of Labor and 1st Stage of Labor
Packing your bag
When to go to the Hospital
Active Labor through Birth
Labor and pushing positions for birth
Comfort techniques
Tips for partners
Tour of Maternity Services
Class 2: Labor and Birth Choices
Medical procedures during Active Labor through birth
Medical Pain relief
Epidural/Spinal Anesthesia

Recovery and postpartum
The Baby Care & Safety Class and the Breastfeeding Class information is NOT covered in the Prepared Childbirth Class. Those classes are offered on separate dates. Hands-on Comfort Workshop for hands-on practice of breathing, relaxation, and comfort techniques also available.
Tour of Maternity Services included throughout 3 class series.
Recommended for Mom & partner due between 24-36 weeks. Also recommended during this time is the Breastfeeding Class and the Baby Care Safety Class. The Hands on Comfort Workshop is also recommended to take after the Prepared Childbirth Class Series or Prepared Childbirth Express Class Series or Refresher Childbirth Class.
Early Pregnancy Classes recommended to take from time you find out you are pregnant until 20 weeks are the Welcome to Pregnancy Open House and the Nutrition & Exercise classes.
