A virtual tour will be offered with an instructor via WebEx until we are able to resume in-person classes. All registrants who sign up for this tour will receive more information via email.
A guided tour through Maternity Services at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, including Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby Units. If you are taking a Childbirth Class series or a separate C-Section Class you will not need a tour as it is included in the class. If you want other members of your family to tour with you(besides your birthing partner), then you may want an additional tour.
NO walk-in tours will be given. Registration is required due to security and space. Each person must be registered to attend the tour with you. If you have additional people you would like to attend the tour besides your birthing coach please enter their names in the comments field to obtain prior approval from the tour guide. Space is limited, approval based on availability.
All in-person tours leave promptly at the scheduled time from the Entrance to Maternity Services at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. If you miss the start time, you will need to reschedule.
As you drive into the hospital follow the signs for entrance "C" Maternity services. It is the glass-covered entrance to the right of the emergency room entrance. Then go in the doors and take an immediate left. Take the elevator up to 3rd floor (the only place it goes) to the maternity services guest relations desk and check-in with them. Everyone will need a driver's license (or other photo ID) to get your visitors badge made. You can then wait in the lobby for the guide while everyone gathers and checks in.
Remember we will be in the hospital with patients and staff caring for patients during this very exciting time. To avoid disrupting their experience:
If you are requesting to bring children, please tell your children prior to the tour that they need to remain with you and the group, and running, yelling, and jumping is not allowed anywhere in the Maternity Services Department. This helps everyone so they will know the rules. Also, tell them not to get on the patient beds or go into rooms with patients. We need patient beds to be clean for the next patient. We have a large group so your help in this matter is very much appreciated.
