Owensboro Health To Build Primary Care & Specialty Clinic In Muhlenberg

Owensboro Health and Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital are making preparations to construct an approximately 8,000 square-foot clinic on the hospital’s property located on the corner of Hopkinsville Street and Weir Road. As early as April 2016, the clinic will be ready to serve as home to Vincent Genovese, MD, One Health Rapid Care, additional primary care providers and rotating sub-specialists including neurology, obstetrics, orthopedics, medical oncology, urology and general surgery.

“It’s our mission to heal the sick and improve the health of this community,” said Ed Heath, CEO of Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. “One way we can contribute to that mission is by increasing local access to healthcare providers. We recognize the need for additional primary care and sub-specialists in our local community so we’re expanding services and making space for more to come in the near future.”

Owensboro Health President and CEO, Philip Patterson is looking forward to the possibilities that a new clinic will bring to Muhlenberg County residents.

“Owensboro Health recognizes that we can have a tremendous impact on the health of our communities through our outpatient facilities, where people can go before they are sick enough to need the emergency department or have to be admitted into the hospital. By educating, engaging, and offering better access to primary care services, we can help people prevent illness and live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives,” said Patterson.

In addition, the clinic will house additional outpatient radiology and laboratory services. The new building is set to open in Spring 2016.
