Owensboro Health Wins Statewide Accolade For Providing Innovative Aging Care

Dr. Bill Bryant

Owensboro Health was recognized October 25 at the MediStar Awards, winning the Hospice of the Bluegrass Aging Care Award.

The MediStar Awards, which are awarded by Medical News publisher IGE Media, honor healthcare organizations and individuals throughout Kentucky. The MediStar Awards have been given annually since 2007. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville. The Hospice of the Bluegrass Aging Care Award is presented to an organization that has advanced the level of care for the senior community through innovative methods, resulting in reduced costs and improved quality of care, according to IGE Media.

Dr. Bill Bryant, vice president and chief quality and patient safety officer at Owensboro Health, said this is welcome recognition of the health system’s efforts to care for the aging population throughout the region.

Owensboro Health’s mission is to heal the sick and to improve the health of the communities we serve and we are working to create processes and systems that benefit all we serve, especially at-risk aging individuals,” Dr. Bryant said. “We’re grateful to receive this award because it highlights the work that all staff throughout the health system do every day to provide care that is outstanding in terms of quality and safety.”
