Music On Call Program For 2017 Expands Thanks To Owensboro Health, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra
The Music on Call program is back, thanks to a continuing partnership between Owensboro Health and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.
The program’s inaugural season in 2015 brought a grand piano and professional musicians to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The result was live renditions of Christmas pieces in the lobby of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital during the holidays. In 2016, the program returns, with live music performances from December 7 to 30. The performing musicians include Dr. Diane Earle of Kentucky Wesleyan College, who has played piano nationally and internationally.
This year’s program features an expanded list of musicians, performance times and performance dates, spanning from December 7 to 23 and December 27 to 30. A complete schedule of performances can be found above.
Vice President of Governmental, Community and Legislative Affairs Steve Johnson said the program is an example of Owensboro Health’s dedication to providing a healing environment for patients and their loved ones and provide a sense of health and well-being through the arts for visitors and staff.
“When we look at our mission to heal the sick and to improve the health of the communities we serve, we realize that extends beyond caring for a person’s medical needs,” Johnson said. “This partnership allows us to share the holiday spirit at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. We hope it helps bring joy during difficult or stressful times and that it helps with the recovery process, healing our patients and visitors in mind and soul.”
