One Health Welcomes Urologist To Muhlenberg County

Owensboro Health’s One Health medical group is proud to welcome new specialist Dr. John Nesbitt, a board-certified urologist who will be based in Muhlenberg County. He will begin seeing patients May 9th.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Nesbitt earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Wake Forest University, followed by a master’s in anatomy and his medical degree at the University of Louisville. Dr. Nesbitt then completed his internship and residency at Duke University.

Dr. Nesbitt said he is looking forward to practicing in a community where he can dedicate more time to his patients.

“I enjoy the small town practice. It's a good fit,” Dr. Nesbitt said. “I spend more time with patients, and I think they appreciate it.”

And Dr. Nesbitt said he’s glad to have a connection to Owensboro Health as he practices in Muhlenberg County.

“With urologists, the big picture is, there is a terrific manpower shortage,” Dr. Nesbitt said. “I can continue to work full-time in a community that has a need and this hospital is affiliated with a larger medical center where I can send more complex cases.”
