One Health Internal Medicine Veach Welcomes Two New Physicians

Dr. Heather Smith and Dr. Becky McKindles join Owensboro Health’s One Health medical group.

Owensboro Health announces the addition of primary care physicians Heather Smith, MD and Becky McKindles, MD to One Health Internal Medicine Veach. The new doctors will expand the clinic’s capacity to provide treatment and preventative services to patients.

Dr. Smith is a native of Port Huron, Michigan and holds a bachelor’s of science in biology from Indiana Wesleyan University. She then earned a master’s in biological sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit and her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Her internship and residency were completed at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan, with an emphasis in family medicine.

Dr. McKindles is a native of Poway, California and graduated from Stanford with a bachelor’s in psychology. She later attended Rush Medical School in Chicago, followed by internship and residency at the University of Colorado Swedish Hospital in Denver. She also has experience as an emergency responder, working as an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the San Francisco bay area for two years.

Both physicians began seeing new patients on August 12.
