Dr. Scott E. Gaines Scholarship Fund Accepting Applications

Dr. Scott E. Gaines

For the fourth year, college-bound students from Madisonville North Hopkins County High School and Hopkins County Central High School may be eligible for one of two $2,500 scholarships to be awarded by the Dr. Scott E. Gaines Scholarship Fund.

Proceeds from the Scott E. Gaines Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic benefit the scholarship fund and will be awarded by the Owensboro Health Foundation in May.

Dr. Scott Gaines was a pillar of the community in Hopkins County. He had a vision to further access to care, especially through primary care. This vision led to the formation of Multicare Specialists and expanded choice in healthcare services for the region. This scholarship allows his legacy to live on in future generations.

Along with the application, students will need to write a two-page essay explaining how the scholarship will allow them to be a part of his legacy and include two reference letters, a copy of their high school transcript and an ACT score.

The deadline to apply is April 1, 2017.
