Owensboro Health Announces The 2017 Gaines Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Owensboro Health announces the 2017 recipients of the Dr. Scott M. Gaines Memorial Scholarship, marking the fourth year the scholarship has been awarded.

The scholarship recipients were recognized at a Chamber After Hours event, held by the Hopkins County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event was held in the Dr. Scott E. Gaines Conference Room at Owensboro Health Multicare, 444 S. Main St., in Madisonville.

This year’s recipients of the Dr. Scott E. Gaines Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Irelane Enoch
    Daughter of Debbie Enoch
    Attends Madisonville North-Hopkins High School
    Plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana with a major in biology (pre-medicine)
  • Maggie Farmer
    Daughter of Dr. John and Teryl Farmer
    Attends Hopkins County Central High School
    Plans to attend Murray State University with a major in agriscience technology (communications emphasis)

Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year in honor of Dr. Scott E. Gaines, one of the founders of Owensboro Health Multicare in Madisonville, who died from cancer in August 2013. The scholarships are funded thanks to donations to Owensboro Health Foundation.
