U.S. News & World Report Ranks Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Highest In Western Kentucky
Owensboro Health Regional Hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in Kentucky by U.S. News & World Report, and is the highest-ranked hospital in Kentucky west of Louisville.
The U.S. News & World Report ranking for 2017-2018 was announced in August and names OHRH as the best regional hospital for the Western Coal Fields Region of Kentucky. The report also ranks OHRH as seventh overall in the commonwealth, and OHRH was the only Kentucky hospital ranked outside the Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati metro areas. This also marks the first time OHRH has been ranked.
According to U.S. News & World Report, hospitals are only ranked if they meet certain criteria and standards, and multiple states had no ranked hospitals. By earning this ranking, OHRH has demonstrated quality of care that matches hospitals in much larger cities and metro areas.
In addition, OHRH was ranked as “high-performing” in three areas, up from one area in 2016. The three high-performing areas are:
- Heart failure
- Hip replacement (new)
- Knee replacement (new)
The complete list of ranked hospitals in Kentucky includes:
- University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital – Lexington
- St. Elizabeth Healthcare Edgewood – Covington
- Baptist Health Lexington
- Norton Hospital – Louisville
- Baptist Health Louisville
