Faxing is still down.

A phone outage at Owensboro Health Multicare in Madisonville is preventing calls to the facility, but a temporary workaround means the facility’s main number can receive calls now.

The phone outage, which began Tuesday, is only affecting calls being made to the Owensboro Health Multicare facility in Madisonville. Calls can still be made from the facility and Owensboro Health’s internal phone network can also make and transfer calls to the facility.

Jeff Wilkerson, Owensboro Health Director of Information Technology, said the workaround will have the following effects:

  • The Multicare primary number, 270-821-4444 is working once again. Anyone needing to contact offices or individuals at Multicare should call this number and calls will be transferred.
  • Fax numbers and individual phone lines are still down. Anyone needing to send a fax should call the main number and employees will help arrange alternative ways to send documents.

As of 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, the cause of the outage is still unknown and there is no estimated time for the problem to be resolved. Watch for more information and updates.
