Steve Johnson, vice president of Government and Community Affairs, said the system's support of this event has connections to the health system's
mission itself.

"This event aligns with the second part of our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.  We are pleased to be the signature sponsor and to welcome a 13.1 mile run back to Owensboro," Johnson said.

He added that the health system’s sponsorship of this event is a reflection of the system’s respect and admiration of Wendell Foster and the work
done there.

“Wendell Foster has a sterling reputation that spans this region and beyond. They fulfill a critical need not just for people in our community, but across this region,” Johnson said. “Owensboro Health is proud to sponsor their event and throw our support behind their efforts. We know they are an exceptional resource for so many in need of their expertise and compassion.”
