The Next Steps to Improved Health

Coronavirus Update

Next week begins Phase Two of the Owensboro Health recovery plan, which means we are preparing to open more services, such as outpatient surgery. We are taking every necessary step to keep our patients and team members safe as we reopen the system, including patient testing and visitor restrictions. I am proud of the thoughtful, deliberate approach we are taking, and I am thankful to everyone who has contributed to this plan. We are doing this the right way.

Meanwhile, we are seeing fewer COVID-19 cases in our hospitals and have not seen the surge that was possible a few weeks ago. Surge readiness is still a top priority, but it is also time to focus on restarting our health system in the safest way possible so that we can provide all of the care and services our communities need.

At Owensboro Health, we have strong leadership, outstanding resources and an excellent team, and we will continue to stand strong as the region recovers from the pandemic—just like we have been every step of the way.
