Meet Our Staff
Dr. Ravi Alapati is a native of India and earned his medical degree at Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada. He then completed his internship and residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in New York, as well as a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Alapati is specially trained in multiple minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery.
Before joining Owensboro Health, Dr. Alapati helped start multiple surgical programs, including a bariatric program in Moline, Illinois, as well as a bariatric program and an anti-reflux program and upper gastrointestinal lab in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Dr. Alapati is board-certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Janet Carlo, RN, BSN, CBN is the director of Bariatric Services at the Owensboro Health Surgical Weight Loss Center. She is a graduate of Old Dominion University and is a certified bariatric nurse. Janet and her husband Vincent moved to Owensboro from Pensacola, Florida in December 2017.
Janet previously served as the bariatric program manager at the Sacred Heart Surgical Weight Loss Center in Pensacola for 13 years. She also served as the bariatric program coordinator and case manager at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia for four years. Janet’s early nursing career includes the areas of cardiovascular and neurosurgery, as well as years spent addressing women’s health issues while working at women’s centers in Portsmouth and Suffolk, Virginia.
April Lambert is the practice administrator for the Owensboro Health Surgical Weight Loss Center. She is responsible for oversight of all clinical and non-clinical daily operations within the center.
Prior to joining Owensboro Health, April served as the manager of administrative services at the Sacred Heart Surgical Weight Loss Center in Pensacola, Florida for 12 years. During this time, she managed all non-clinical functions within the outpatient bariatric clinic, with special emphasis on revenue integrity. April’s early career includes working in Patient Accounts and in the Billing Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. She is a Pensacola native and studied business at Pensacola Junior College.
