UK College Of Pharmacy & Owensboro Health
In 2008, Owensboro Health partnered with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy to establish the second Clinical Education Center (CEC) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The program provides an opportunity for fourth-year pharmacy students to complete their fourth year experiential education requirements in the Owensboro-Greater Daviess County area.
The CEC serves eight counties: Daviess, Henderson, Hancock, Hopkins, McLean, Muhlenberg, Ohio and Webster. Students have the opportunity to complete rotations in a variety of practice sites, from hospital to community practice.
Students benefit from the wealth of information provided by the excellent University of Kentucky Community Based Faculty, and as a corollary, pharmacy practice benefits from cutting edge knowledge brought from the University by the students. The benefit is better care provided to patients in the area.
The CEC represents a five-year, $1.2 million investment by Owensboro Health.
