Biography
It's truly a privilege to share a bit about my journey and my dedication to heart health. I'm a cardiologist at Owensboro Health, where I focus on diagnosing and treating heart conditions without surgery. What truly drives me is helping people through critical moments, especially those with serious heart issues like heart attacks or dangerous heart rhythms.
My path in medicine began simply, with an early interest in biology during high school. Getting a scholarship to Nishtar Medical University in Pakistan, one of my country's top medical schools, showed me that hard work really does pay off. Through medical school, I learned that being a good doctor means more than just knowing facts. It’s about listening to people, understanding their fears, and being there for them. Building trust with patients is incredibly humbling and reminds me why I chose this path.
Cardiology quickly became my passion. I was fascinated by the heart’s complexity and how much of a difference doctors can make. It’s amazing to see patients improve quickly with the right care. Whether it’s managing heart failure or guiding someone after a major heart event, cardiology allows me to combine science with a deep human connection. I’m especially drawn to cardiac critical care, where every second counts, and skilled decisions can save lives. For me, it’s not just a job; it’s a calling that demands both medical expertise and genuine compassion.
My approach to care is built on compassion and clear communication. I believe healing begins when you truly listen, understanding not just the illness, but the person experiencing it. I strive to provide the best, most personalized care, building trust through empathy and respect. My goal is to help patients feel confident and hopeful throughout their heart health journey.
I chose Owensboro Health because of their strong focus on patient care and excellent reputation for heart health. This community-focused hospital felt like the perfect place to practice the kind of compassionate medicine I believe in. I found a team that shares my values: working together, using advanced tools, and truly caring about patients. Choosing Owensboro Health was more than a career move; it was a commitment to serving a community that values empathy and excellence as much as I do.
Beyond the Hospital
Outside of the hospital, I enjoy staying active and creative. Playing cricket, badminton, and hiking helps me stay in shape, while cooking is a relaxing outlet. I also love architectural design, visual art, and learning about different cultures. These hobbies keep me balanced and open-minded.
My journey took me from a small high school in Pakistan to Nishtar Medical University. Then, to the University of Illinois, where I graduated as Chief Resident, and later to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where I completed my cardiology fellowship and was honored as Chief Cardiology Fellow.
Beyond my medical work, I'm passionate about making a positive change in the world. I founded the Einstein Center of Innovation, an IT-based program that helps girls in rural Pakistan. As Founder and Director of the Education Innovation Network (EIN), I've led community projects focused on technology and digital skills. My goal is to break the cycle of poverty through education, innovation, and opportunity. This mission gives me peace, purpose, and perspective. Medicine is my profession, but helping others is truly my calling.
