Biography
Dr. Patrick Newbury chose his medical specialty after a radiation oncologist correctly diagnosed his father’s condition as advanced head and neck cancer, and not just a swollen lymph node. “It took him moments to save my father’s life. I wanted to do that for someone,” says Dr. Newbury.
“I love always being able to help,” he says “Almost every patient who comes in our door can be helped. We can't cure everyone, but being able to step in when no other medical specialty can is something that I cherish. Even if the only thing we can do is take away a bit of someone's pain in their last few months, I find that tremendously meaningful.”
Dr. Newbury is skilled in the definitive and palliative radiation management of a wide variety of cancers and benign conditions. He decided to join Owensboro Health because "they consistently surprised me with friendliness, modern facilities and great clinicians. It was clear to me that the people here care deeply about the community they serve," he says.
“I am always learning,” says Dr. Newbury. “I won't accept my patients receiving anything less than the most modern, proven treatment modalities to increase benefit and decrease harm.
