The 2025 Superhero 5K, Kids Fun Run & Walk, hosted by Owensboro Health Foundation and Owensboro Health Healthpark, is a community event designed to honor Superhero Cancer Survivors and raise funds for the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. Proceeds will provide assistance, support and resources for patients.

Important Dates
- Registration Opens: July 16
- Event: Saturday, Sept. 27
- Guaranteed Shirt Deadline: Register by Monday, Sept. 8
- Online Registration Deadline: Thursday, Sept. 25 at noon for all events
- In-person Registration (on Sept. 27):
- 5K Race – 7 to 7:45 a.m.
- Kids Fun Run – 7:30 to 9 a.m.
- Superhero Walk – 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
Event Details

- Schedule:
- 5K Race – 8 a.m.
- Kids Fun Run – 9:15 a.m.
- Awards for 5K Race and Kids Fun Run prize drawings, followed by Opening Ceremonies for Superhero Walk and Survivor Recognition – 9:45 a.m.
- Start of Superhero Walk – 10 a.m.
- Other Activities: Music, food, kids' activities & games, and superheroes will be present from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. All participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero. Cancer Survivors will be honored at the Superhero Walk Opening Ceremonies at 9:45 a.m.
- Awards: Prizes will be awarded for each event, as well as for the top fundraising individual and team.
How to Participate and Support the Cause
- Register for an Event: You can participate in one or more of the following events:
- 5K Race:
- $30 Early Bird entry fee by Aug. 31
- $40 beginning Sept. 1
- Kids Fun Run:
- $10 per child
- Entry fee includes T-shirt, race medal, kids’ games, food, prizes and FUN!
- All kids will be entered into prize drawings.
- Superhero Walk:
- Survivors can register for FREE and will be honored at the walk!
- $30 entry fee per person.
- There is no limit to the number of members per team. This is a team event honoring our Superhero Survivors. Teams may participate in honor or in memory of loved ones, co-workers, or friends. Teams are encouraged to dress as superheroes!
- Each lap of the walk has symbolic meaning: The first lap will be in honor of cancer survivors, the second lap will be in honor of caregivers, and the third lap will pay tribute to those we have lost.

- Each Superhero Walk team is asked (not required) to raise funds to help support programs and resources for cancer patients at Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center.
