What Can I Say to Convince You to Get Vaccinated? Campaign Continues

Leitchfield Pediatrician Dr. Anthony Smith is a parent first and a doctor second. He gives his patients the same guidance he'd offer his own family. And right now, the best guidance he can offer is to get vaccinated. Hear directly from him in this video and watch for him and other concerned providers in a commercial running on all major broadcast and cable channels. You’ll also see their message in newspapers, on billboards and on social media as we urge the community to get vaccinated.

Vaccine Incentives
Owensboro Health has seen a recent uptick in the number of team members getting vaccinated. Employee Engagement wants to keep that trend going, so they’re offering incentives to those who have gotten their shot. Those eligible will be entered into a drawing to win 40 hours of PTO. Two names will be drawn each week for the next several weeks. Schedule your vaccine appointment at OwensboroHealth.org/Vaccine if you haven’t gotten yours yet.

Upcoming Community Vaccine Clinics
Friday, August 13
Owensboro Regional Airport
4 - 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 29

1:15 – 2:30 (following the Spanish-speaking service)

COVID-19 Treatment News
Regeneron, a monoclonal antibody drug used to treat COVID-10, can now be mixed in a smaller volume of fluid. This allows the infusion time to be reduced from 60 minutes to 22, cutting the infusion time by nearly 2/3.  This could allow more opportunities for additional patients and positively impact the COVID team working in the tent.

Business Travel
Business travel will only be approved for fully vaccinated team members. The Request-for-Travel form (on OnBase) is being updated to reflect a question about vaccination. Requests will not be authorized unless you are fully vaccinated.

Visitor Restrictions In Place
Owensboro Health limits visitors to ONE support person for inpatient stays and surgical procedures. We encourage loved ones to check in with patients via video calls when possible. For more information on current policies, including policies regarding the Emergency Department, Maternity Services and pediatric patients, visit OwensboroHealth.org/Visit.
