Owensboro Health Presents Tornado Recovery Check

Owensboro Health presented a check for $40,000 to the Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund Thursday, during a visit from Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman.

These funds were donated by Owensboro Health team members and individuals who wanted to help those affected by the tragic devastation from the tornado outbreak on December 10. Owensboro Health Foundation coordinated a way for individuals to make a donation to the recovery—and have it matched by Owensboro Health.

“What I love about this is one of our core missions at Owensboro Health is partnering with our communities,” said Owensboro Health President and CEO Mark Marsh. “Hopefully this was just a sign and a small signal about what we want to do–really partnering through the good times and bad times. Today was really an example of that.”

“We can't say enough how much we appreciate what you do on a normal day, let alone during what we've all been through with the pandemic in the last two years,” Lt. Governor Coleman said of health care workers. “To see that you have had so many challenges and struggles and still find a way to bring people together to give back to others who are struggling is…I don't even know that I have the words. I just can't thank you enough for caring for your community but also caring for the community of Kentucky.”
