Critical Care Unit Celebrates Quality Award

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital’s Critical Care Unit is celebrating a quality milestone! The team has not had a ventilator-associated event in more than 175 days. Ventilator-associated events (VAEs) are complications or infections, including ventilator-associated pneumonia associated with a mechanical ventilator. Patients with a VAE can have a longer duration of mechanical ventilation and a longer length of stay than mechanically ventilated patients without a VAE. This success was a team effort from CCU, Respiratory and providers. Congratulations to our dedicated team on this accomplishment!
