Lights For Life Program Returns to Owensboro Health

Lights for Life Graphic

This holiday season, honor someone with a light on the Lights for Life tree!

The holiday season is the perfect time of year to touch the lives of others. We invite you to participate in Lights for Life by purchasing a symbolic light in honor or memory of a loved one.

Your sponsored light supports those in need in our community while honoring a special person in your life.

The lights make a thoughtful gift and express your appreciation for those you love and cherish: Friends, family, school teachers, physicians, ministers, coaches, co-workers, or anyone who has held a special place in your heart. A card will be mailed to your loved ones to let them know of your kindness, and the name of the person you honor will be displayed on the Lights for Life Online Tribute Book, on signage at our holiday trees and on social media. Also, your gift to Lights for Life will count towards Foundation Nation membership. If you are not a 2023 member of Foundation Nation, you can become one by making a year-end gift to Lights for Life.

Proceeds from Lights For Life fund many programs and services that help meet the healthcare needs of patients and their families and the greater community. This year, Lights for Life is taking place at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center, Multicare Madisonville, and the Madisonville and Henderson Healthplexes. Contributions made to Lights for Life are used where the need is greatest in alignment with our priority focus areas. Funds raised in each county are restricted to programs and services within that county--contributions raised locally support local initiatives. Community support is vital to the care and well-being of those served by Owensboro Health.

Owensboro Health Foundation served more than 35,000 individuals in the past year with services such as transportation assistance, free mammograms and other diagnostic testing for early detection of breast cancer, lung cancer screenings, diabetes education and screenings, equipment and technology to enhance surgical procedures and to care for NICU babies, lodging for patients and family members in hospitality suites, prescription assistance, staff renewal rooms, clothing closets, art carts at all three hospitals, and so much more.

To participate, visit OwensboroHealth.org/LightsForLife. Gifts to Lights for Life will be accepted through the holiday season, however the deadline to make sure your loved ones’ names are listed on our holiday tree signage is Monday, December 18.
