Nursing Careers Featured at Owensboro Health Open House
Nursing careers and current open positions will be the focus of an upcoming Open House event at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Anyone interested in nursing opportunities at any of Owensboro Health’s three hospitals is invited to talk with hiring managers from many departments on Thursday, August 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
“We are inviting nursing students, as well as currently licensed nurses, to learn how Owensboro Health strongly supports its nursing team,” says Joni Sims, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services, who will be on hand at the Open House event to welcome attendees.
“We are proud to have been voted ‘Best Place to Work in Owensboro’ by the readers of Owensboro Living Magazine,” says Daniel Blandford, Human Resources Manager of Employment. “We hope many potential team members will come to the event and see for themselves why we have received this honor five years in a row.”
The agenda for the evening includes brief presentations by nursing leaders, beginning at 5:20 p.m., on topics such as applying for nursing opportunities, team-member benefits, education and financial-assistance opportunities, employee-engagement programs, as well as Nurse Residency and Nursing Professional Advancement Programs.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., attendees will be invited to talk with representatives from many Owensboro Health nursing departments, including Cardiac Medical and Step-Down units, Emergency Department, Maternity Services, Oncology, Surgical Services, Orthopedics and Neurology, and many others.
Hospital tours will be offered at 6 and 7:30 p.m., and attendees can enter a drawing for prizes. The attire for the event is business casual, light refreshments will be served throughout the event, and participants are welcome to come and go as they’d like.
