Beth Steele named Chief Operating Officer for Owensboro Health

Beth Steele has been named Chief Operating Officer for Owensboro Health, a newly created position that will focus on systemwide operations. Steele will retain her current roles as Chief Operating Officer for Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and Chief Nursing Officer for the health system. She began her new position on June 10.
As system COO, Steele will work to build standardized workflows and processes across the health system. Her areas of responsibility will include clinical operations, support services, and nursing services. Her role will collaborate closely with the system CFO and CMO related to finance, quality, and patient safety.

Steele joined Owensboro Health on January 10, 2022. Since arriving in Owensboro, she has been instrumental in forming Nursing Shared Governance, implemented multiple workforce innovations and sponsored process improvement processes like Gemba boards. Her teams have also led major projects to reduce patient falls and hospital-acquired infections while achieving OHRH’s best-ever Net Promoter Score in 2024. She previously served in leadership roles with OhioHealth and Premier Health.
Steele holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Wright State University and a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is credentialed as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
