Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Reintroduces Cheer Cards

At Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, we understand the importance of emotional support and connection during a patient's stay. That's why we are thrilled to announce the return of our beloved Cheer Cards, a heartfelt initiative designed to brighten the days of our patients and let them know they are in your thoughts.
Cheer Cards are essentially greeting cards that can be sent to patients at our hospital. Whether you want to send a "Get Well Soon," "Happy Birthday," or "Congratulations on the New Baby," you can now choose from a variety of card designs online, personalize a message, and decide whether you want the card emailed or printed and delivered directly to the patient's room. Our dedicated volunteers and staff members are excited to resume the task of printing and delivering these cards, ensuring your heartfelt messages reach their intended recipients.
The service was temporarily halted due to COVID-19 restrictions, as we aimed to minimize unnecessary contact and ensure the safety of our patients and volunteers. During this period, the option to send Cheer Cards was removed from our website. However, with the easing of restrictions and the essential role that emotional support plays in recovery, we are delighted to reintroduce this free service to our community.
Kendra Knott from Owensboro Health Volunteer Services shares, "A lot of churches utilized it because it was so easy, but individuals used the service as well. If someone wants to send a card, this is an easy way to get online, choose a design, and send a personalized message. You just need the patient's name and your information, and our volunteers handle the rest, delivering the cards each day."
Delivery hours for Cheer Cards are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cards submitted after those hours will be printed and delivered the next day, ensuring that your messages are timely and uplifting. The simple act of receiving a card can make a significant difference, especially for patients who may not have visitors or family nearby.
From the perspective of our volunteers, delivering these cards is a rewarding experience. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this service and help us spread cheer and warmth to those who need it most.
At Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, we are committed to enhancing the patient experience and fostering a supportive environment. With the reintroduction of Cheer Cards, we hope to add an extra touch of comfort to each patient's hospital stay.
