Owensboro Health has named Christy Maraone as Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

In this role, Maraone will lead all aspects of marketing for Owensboro Health, including brand management, internal and external communications, crisis communications, media relations, digital marketing and social media. She will report to Philip Smith, Chief Business Development Officer for Owensboro Health.
Maraone will work to develop marketing strategies that enhance the perception of Owensboro Health across the region, prioritizing consumer trust and awareness. She is also responsible for building a strong brand position and increasing market share for the health system.
“Christy is a seasoned executive who has achieved an incredible level of success throughout her healthcare marketing career, which includes some of the largest and most respected brands in the nation,” said Owensboro Health President and CEO Mark Marsh. “As the healthcare industry changes and gets more competitive, adding a professional of Christy’s caliber to our talented and dedicated marketing team positions us to build an even stronger brand in the future.”
Maraone has more than 20 years of executive-level marketing and communications experience, including ten years in the healthcare industry. Most recently, she worked at the nation’s largest health system, HCA Healthcare, where she led marketing for the Gulf Coast Division (Houston)—its second largest division— comprising 19 hospitals, 33 free-standing emergency centers, 23 urgent care centers, 13 ambulatory surgery centers and 90 physician practices. She has also served in executive marketing roles at Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America, Vascular Institute of the Rockies, HCA Healthcare Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony North Health Campus. Maraone holds both a master’s degree in marketing and an MBA from the University of Colorado Denver.
“As I step into the role of leading marketing and communications at Owensboro Health, I am excited to amplify our strong reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient care,” said Maraone. “I look forward to contributing to Owensboro Health’s continued growth and helping to solidify its position as one of Kentucky’s premier healthcare brands.
