Masking May Return Due to Rise in Respiratory Illnesses

Respiratory illnesses like COVID and flu are rising in our community and hospital admissions are increasing. While we’re not implementing a masking requirement yet, we want you to be prepared in case this changes soon.

At Owensboro Health, your safety is our top priority. We’re closely monitoring guidance from the Kentucky Department of Public Health and the CDC and will keep you informed of any updates. Inside our hospitals, we are taking extra precautions with thorough cleaning protocols and vigilant infection prevention measures to protect patients, visitors and staff.

In the meantime:

  • Consider wearing a mask in crowded spaces or around high-risk individuals
  • Wash your hands often and stay home if you feel unwell
  • Watch for symptoms like fever, cough or shortness of breath and contact your healthcare provider if needed

Together, we can protect each other and keep our community healthy. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
