A New Era of Imaging at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center: Faster, Safer and Clearer Scans Are Here!

The familiar hum of medical equipment at OHTLMC now has a more efficient rhythm. With the arrival of two state-of-the-art imaging machines, the Canon Aquilion Serve SP CT scanner and the Vantage Orian MRI scanner, patients can expect significant advancements in diagnostic imaging.

The unique features of these machines further highlight their value. The Canon Aquilion Serve SP is a cutting-edge CT scanner that offers fast scanning speeds, allowing physicians to obtain detailed images quickly without compromising clarity. Beyond speed, the Aquilion Serve SP contains a highly sensitive detector system that significantly reduces the radiation dose administered, aligning with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to prioritize patient safety.

At the same time, the Vantage Orian MRI scanner boasts an impressive Fast 3D mode. This innovative technology can reduce scan times by up to 50%, making the MRI experience considerably faster and more comfortable for patients. This significantly improves overall efficiency, especially in a high-volume hospital setting.

“The quality and speed of the new technology are outstanding, and you can really see the difference," said Tim Baker, Director of Radiology.

The benefits of these advancements extend across a wide range of examinations. AI technology is vital in achieving enhanced image resolution and superior image quality. This leads to more accurate diagnoses, providing physicians with the detailed information required for optimal patient care.

"With the arrival of these two scanners, virtually every exam will see some benefit," said Baker.

Introducing the Canon Aquilion Serve SP CT scanner and the Vantage Orian MRI scanner marks a significant milestone for OHTLMC and the communities it serves. These advanced machines represent more than just equipment upgrades; they are committed to delivering faster, safer and more accurate diagnostic imaging, ultimately leading to improved patient care and outcomes.
