OHTLMC Wound Center Recognized for Excellence in Wound Healing

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center proudly announces that its Wound Center has received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award from Healogics, the leading provider of advanced wound care. This prestigious award recognizes the Center's exceptional performance, placing it in the top 10 percent of Healogics Wound Care Centers nationwide for its comprehensive healing rate, adjusted for the complexity of patient wounds. The award is named in honor of Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a renowned figure in wound care and former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
Adding to this achievement, the Owensboro Twin Lakes Medical Center Wound Center has also been named a Center of Distinction by Healogics. This recognition highlights the Center's consistent delivery of excellent clinical outcomes over twelve months, including a patient satisfaction rate exceeding 92 percent. This award underscores the commitment and expertise of the Center’s physicians, leaders and clinicians in providing exceptional care.
"Nothing takes the place of providing best care to our patients on a daily basis,” said Michelle Gore, Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager. “Utilizing the People-First, Patient-Centered cultural belief while caring for our patients allows us the opportunity to build lasting relationships alongside providing patient care. It is most rewarding to see the many great outcomes and seeing patients enjoying their lives to the fullest."
As part of the Healogics network of over 600 Wound Care Centers, the Owensboro Twin Lakes Medical Center Wound Center offers specialized treatment for patients with conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds.
The Wound Care team of experts utilizes advanced wound care techniques, including negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. Additionally, the Center provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a treatment that enhances healing by exposing patients to 100 percent oxygen to help accelerate wound healing.
