Owensboro Health Recognized Nationally for Stroke and Diabetes Care

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital has again earned national recognition from the American Heart Association for its commitment to high quality stroke care.
The hospital received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Award, the Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. These three awards reflect how well our team follows evidence-based care for stroke patients—leading to better recovery, fewer complications, and lives saved.
“We work every day to respond faster and treat smarter,” said Angela Thomas, BSN, RN, CCRN, Stroke Clinical Program Specialist at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. “This recognition shows what’s possible when you build a team committed to excellence and focus on every patient.”
The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines program helps hospitals improve care by following the latest treatment guidelines. The Honor Roll and Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Target recognitions go a step further, honoring hospitals that treat patients quickly and manage stroke care in people with diabetes—two factors that can make a major difference in outcomes.
“This is a win for our team, but more importantly, it’s a win for the people we serve,” Thomas said.
