A Tribute to Our Incredible Team on Nurses Day
Today, we celebrate National Nurses Day to recognize the significant contributions of nurses, team members and the communities served. An uplifting tribute ceremony took place at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, allowing special guests to express gratitude to patient care team members for their daily efforts.
"You make our mission real, you change lives and our communities are stronger and healthier because of you," said Mark Marsh, President & CEO.
Mayor Tom Watson and Judge-Executive Charlie Castlen attended the event, sharing stories of appreciation for the team's work. They officially proclaimed May 6, 2025, as Nurses Day in Owensboro, Daviess County, and the surrounding areas.
Today’s tribute was initiated by Belinda Haliburton, a community member and the spouse of a patient who received care at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital (OHRH). She shared her personal story and expressed gratitude to the nurses and team members who provided exceptional care for her spouse during his lengthy stay.
“At Owensboro Health, you play a vital role in making this world brighter, better, and healthier,” said Haliburton.

We thank Haliburton for her heartfelt tribute and for being one of our team members’ biggest supporters. We also thank Mayor Tom Watson and Judge Executive Castlen for honoring our nurses and team members.
All Owensboro Health team members work collaboratively to provide high quality patient care, and we wouldn’t be what we are today without their dedication. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and extraordinary care. As Haliburton says, "May you continue to be blessed and bless others."
