Biography
Alexander Brown, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon who has returned “home” to join Owensboro Health. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery and primary joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee. As a sports medicine specialist, he treats injuries to bones, muscles and joints in athletes and active individuals. Dr. Brown also helps athletes focus on prevention, helping them learn to use their bodies in a way that will prevent re-injury.
Dr. Brown grew up in Somerset, Kentucky, where he was inspired to become a physician by his father, who served the community as a general surgeon for more than 30 years. Today, Dr. Brown’s goal is to improve lives — just like his father.
“I restore and improve the function of my patients’ extremities,” he says. “I help free them from what’s holding them back and get them moving forward again.”
Dr. Brown looks forward to working with local athletic trainers and coaches to help athletes reach their full potential. He enjoys being on the sidelines to get injured athletes on the trajectory to heal as quickly and safely as possible.
