Biography

Dr. Betty Villafuerte, board-certified endocrinologist, looks forward to meeting the needs of diabetes and endocrinology patients in Owensboro. With more than 30 years’ experience in her field, she aims to help them understand their medical problem so they can then improve their health and their quality of life.

Dr. Villafuerte earned her medical degree from the University of Philippines and completed a residency at State University of New York in Buffalo and a fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. She joins Owensboro Health after serving for 10 years as the Endocrinology Section Chief at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

Originally from the Philippines, she was encouraged by her parents to pursue a career in medicine. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and seeing new cultures and places.
