Biography
Dr. Christopher Behringer focuses on promoting and restoring functional freedom to his patients by means of traditional primary care, as well as complementary treatment options. He offers lifestyle medicine interventions, such as nutrition counseling, exercise prescriptions, stress management techniques, and smoking cessation support, to promote optimal health and prevent chronic diseases.
“Many people want to try something that isn't a medicine or a surgery, and I wanted to bring these options to the Owensboro area,” says Dr. Behringer. “I provide osteopathic manual therapy and acupuncture, which often complement traditional medicine, such as physical therapy, medications, injections or pain management.”
Dr. Behringer was a musician before he studied medicine. “The things I liked about music, such as teaching others music, making people's day better by performing, and overall bringing happiness to people, were things I could do in medicine in a way that's more impactful and meaningful,” he says.
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Behringer enjoys powerlifting and kickboxing. He is also an avid history buff and is pursuing degrees in medieval history.
