Kyle Fischer, MD

While being an advocate for family members with multiple health issues led Dr. Kyle Fischer to a career in medicine, it was the ability to provide life-saving procedures and potential immediate relief of a patient’s symptoms that drew him to gastroenterology. 

He provides screening and diagnostic procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and esophageal dilation. He also diagnoses and treats abdominal pain syndromes, eosinophilic esophagitis, colitis, Crohn's disease and swallowing disorders.

Growing up in a rural community in Wisconsin fostered his desire to provide care to underserved patient populations and influenced Dr. Fischer’s decision to practice at Owensboro Health.

He says his residency and fellowship training at the University of Kentucky provided him with a “breath of knowledge of advanced pathology and patient populations.” He also confesses to being a “Wildcat sports superfan.”
