Meet Dr. Steven Edds: Your Partner in Digestive Health
Hello, I'm Dr. Steven Edds, and I'm a doctor specializing in Gastroenterology. This means I focus on your digestive system, including everything from your throat to your stomach, intestines, and liver. My goal is to help you feel your best and live a healthy life.
A Family Tradition of Care
I grew up right here in Owensboro, Kentucky, and medicine runs in my family! My grandfather was a family doctor in McLean County, and my father has been a respected surgeon in Owensboro for over 43 years. My brother is also a radiologist in the area. Seeing the positive impact my family had on people's lives inspired me to follow in their footsteps and dedicate myself to helping others.
Expert Care for Your Digestive System
I provide complete care for many digestive and liver conditions. I perform procedures like colonoscopies and upper endoscopies (EGDs) to diagnose and treat issues. I also help patients manage common conditions such as GERD (acid reflux), IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), liver disease, and help with colorectal cancer screening.
What I enjoy most about my work is being able to truly improve my patients' quality of life. Whether it's finding a problem early through screening or performing a procedure to relieve discomfort, I find it rewarding to combine my medical knowledge with hands-on treatment.
My Philosophy: Treating You Like Family
I believe in treating every patient with the same care, respect, and attention I would want for my own family. I understand that dealing with digestive issues can be challenging, and I'm committed to making your experience as comfortable and effective as possible.
Back Home in Owensboro
After finishing my medical training, I was excited to return to my hometown of Owensboro. I feel a strong connection to the community and am proud to serve the people who have known my family for generations. I love the welcoming atmosphere and the strong sense of community pride, which makes my work even more meaningful.
Outside the Clinic
When I'm not helping patients, I'm usually busy with my four children, who are very involved in sports. I spend a lot of my free time at practices and games, cheering them on. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors at my family farm.
