OHRH Again Named to Newsweek’s America’s Best List
For the third consecutive year, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital has been named to Newsweek’s prestigious list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024. Presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the award recognizes the country’s top inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) based on expert recommendations, key performance data, and national accreditations.
The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024 list highlights leading IRFs from the 25 states with the highest number of rehabilitation facilities identified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Evaluation Criteria for America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers
The evaluation process was comprised of these steps:
- Peer Recommendations: Thousands of medical professionals, including physicians, therapists and facility administrators, participated in an extensive peer-to-peer survey.
- Quality of Care: Survey participants rated the quality of care, service, follow-up care and amenities.
- KPI Data Scores: The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published data covering 15 measures of rehabilitation center performance.
- Bonus for Accreditations: Facilities with Model Systems and CARF accreditations received a bonus to their overall score.
