Owensboro Health Surgical Specialists will provide general surgery at Perry County Memorial Hospital under a new agreement that takes effect Nov. 1. A team of 11 Owensboro Health physicians will rotate at Perry County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) and take calls, covering procedures ranging from colonoscopies to surgical oncology.

“Owensboro Health is a great fit for PCMH and our culture of surgical excellence,” said Jared Stimpson, CEO of Perry County Memorial Hospital. “They have served the Perry County area for many years—both in our hospital and at their Tell City location. The expansion of this program at PCMH will allow us to continue our mission of providing more care close to home.”

Owensboro Health’s general surgery team practices under the name Owensboro Health Medical Group – Surgical Specialists and has a clinic located at 421 Seventh St. in Tell City. Six physicians will have regular rotations at PCMH: Samuel Carson, MD; Tony Decker, MD; John Falcone, MD; Erik Lanham, MD; Alan Mullins, MD; and Kristofer Nava, MD. Five additional surgeons will be available for “on-call” services.

“We are proud to partner with Perry County Memorial Hospital to provide high-quality surgical services to Southern Indiana,” said Mack Howell, chief operating officer of Owensboro Health Medical Group. “We appreciate PCMH’s deep commitment to this community and look forward to helping them exceed expectations in the future.”

PCMH’s collaboration with Owensboro Health does not affect the hospital’s affiliation agreement with Deaconess Health System, Stimpson said.

“We greatly value our relationship with Deaconess Health System, and we appreciate the collaborative effort to work with Owensboro Health to provide the right solution for our hospital and the patients we serve.”
