Visitor Restrictions

Visitor restrictions at all Owensboro Health hospitals and outpatient facilities are subject to change at any time. Visitor restrictions are in place to protect the patients, providers and staff of Owensboro Health.

  • Visitors ages 12 years and under must always be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
  • Visitors must be 14 years and older to visit the Critical Care or Intensive Care Units. 
  • Masking requirements are based on COVID-19 hospitalization rates.
  • Parents are encouraged to visit and stay overnight with their child at any time. The child must have one caregiver in attendance at all times.
  • Visitors of patients with infectious diseases must communicate with the nursing staff to receive instructions while visiting.

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital

General Visiting Hours: 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Overnight Visiting Hours: 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Overnight visitors must check in at the concierge desk in the main lobby, present picture identification and obtain a name badge and access card to operate elevators leading to patient rooms.

Maternity Services Visiting Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Visitors must check in on the third floor of the Maternity Services Building, present picture identification and obtain a name badge to visit patients in Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby, Nursery or NICU areas.
  • Three support people (doulas are included as a support person) are allowed in Labor & Delivery.

Behavioral Health Unit Visiting Hours: Monday through Friday, 5 to 6 p.m. & Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

  • It is necessary to limit visitors to two visitors at a time. Four total visitors maximum per hour session. Two visitors may switch out at the half-hour.
  • Visitors must be 16 years or older.

Critical Care/ICU Unit: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • There must be no more than four visitors at a time. One family member may stay overnight with the patient.
  • Live plants and flowers should not be sent to the Critical Care Unit.
  • Critical Care/ICU is a locked unit. Each visitor must check-in and receive a visitor badge upon entering the unit. Four visitor badges are allocated per patient.
  • Please do not bring food into the patient’s room.

Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital

General Visiting Hours: 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

  • Visitors after 8 p.m. must enter and exit through the Emergency Department entrance. 
  • Only one visitor per patient may stay overnight.
  • Visitation may be adjusted depending on the condition of the patient or as determined by the nursing staff.

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center

General Visiting Hours: 7 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Overnight Visiting Hours: 9:30 p.m. - 7 a.m.

  • Visitor waiting areas are located across from the elevators on the second floor. There are additional waiting areas in the emergency department and outpatient surgery. 
  • Visitors after 8 p.m. must enter and exit through the Emergency Department entrance. 
  • Only one visitor per patient may stay overnight.

Critical Care Visiting Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

  • Visits should be limited to two visitors at a time and kept brief.

Maternity Services Visiting Hours: 7 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. 

  • Visitors must check in at the Maternity Services Nursing desk, present picture identification and obtain a name badge to visit patients in Maternity Services.
  • Two support people (doulas are included as a support person) are allowed.
